Privacy Policy

Last updated 21 January 2008.

As with our Terms Of Use, the WhatNotToSing.com Privacy Policy is simple and straightforward. Please read it in full, particularly if you intend to contact us for any reason.

When Visiting Our Site

In the normal course of business, we collect no personally identifiable information ("PII") about you when you visit our web site. It's not that we don't care about who you are. We're sure you're very nice. It's just that we have no use for the information at the moment, and we don't like to pry.

We may write 'cookies' to your hard drive when you visit our site, so as to improve your browsing experience. These are typically bits of historical data or to record your personal site preferences, and in any case they are not shared with any other web site.

We display third-party advertising on our web site, and our advertisers may write cookies to your computer as well. WhatNotToSing.com has no control over these cookies. If you have any concerns, please check the privacy policies of our advertisers or of the Internet advertising services we use.

When Contacting Us

When you write us directly, WhatNotToSing.com will, to the best of our abilities, keep your contact information solely between you and us. In particular, we will not sell, rent, or otherwise voluntarily disclose your email address to others without your permission.

If we have your email address or other contact information, and you would like us to remove it permanently from our files, just write us and we'll gladly do so.

We reserve the right to publish freely on our web site any correspondence we receive from you, or any portion thereof, with attribution, just as if you sent a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. If you wish to deny us this right, or if you want us to withhold your name or hometown, just note that clearly in your correspondence and we'll respect your wishes. (Our usual practice is to ask you first before we print anything, but there are no guarantees in life.)

If you're submitting an original article or essay to be considered for publication on WhatNotToSing.com, and you wish to retain ownership rights to it, please be sure, for your own protection, that you include a prominent copyright notice in your work. Otherwise, whatever you send us will be treated as informal correspondence, as discussed above. We will consider only original, bylined material on relevant topics, and your work must infringe on no third-party copyrights. At present, we do not pay for republication rights.
